Belgrade is looking forward to the delivery of Russian Mi-35 helicopters as early as this year, Ambassador of Serbia to the Russian Federation Miroslav Lazanski said in an interview for RIA Novosti.

Serbian Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin noted that Belgrade is looking forward to receive seven Mi-35 and Mi-17 helicopters from Russia under a contract at the end of this year or beginning of the next year.

“We have close cooperation with the Russian Federation concerning purchases of large military hardware. In the past, Russia provided Serbia with certain military hardware on donation terms. We expect that two of the four Mi-35 helicopters will be delivered until the end of the year. Regarding the Mi-17 helicopters, their delivery is expected at the beginning of the next year. We agreed on purchasing four Mi-35 and three Mi-17 helicopters,” - Lazanski said,

adding that Belgrade already bought two Mi-17 helicopters and had owned another Mi-17 before that. “This will bring the total number of our Mi-17 helicopters to six,” - the Ambassador noted.
