The Crew Of The Newest Submarine «Volkhov» in April Will Begin to Ensure its Testing

In St. Petersburg, «Admiralty shipyard», a part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, began mooring tests of the «Volkhov» project 636.3 large diesel-electric submarine. The crew of the submarine is currently completing training at the Naval Training center and will arrive at the «Volkhov» in April to familiarize with new equipment and weapons, as well as to prepare for the next stages of testing.

In matters of testing, the High Command of the Navy works closely with project designing organizations and USC enterprises.

During the mooring tests, the specialists of the «Admiralty shipyard» company will check the functioning of ship-wide systems, the operation of devices and mechanisms of the submarine. In particular, navigation, communication and control systems, radio equipment and sonar systems will be tested. After completion of mooring tests, which are carried out at the fitting-out enterprise's shore, «Volkhov» will be able to go to the factory running and state tests.
