Rosenergoatom Isolates Key NPP Personnel

On March 28, 2020, spouse of one of the Beloyarsk NPP employees was hospitalized with symptoms of coronavirus infection, reported the NPP's press service. Currently, personnel who contacted this employee are isolated and tested for COVID-19. Results are expected in the nearest future. Beloyarsk NPP is operating in the normal mode.

To reduce the risk of transmission of infection, Beloyarsk NPP preventively isolated key operational personnel by accommodating in recreation center owned by NPP. The NPP organized 24/7 medical supervision and permanent disinfection of premises. All personnel, without exception, use personal protective equipment and sanitary items. Vehicles transporting personnel between NPP and temporary accommodation are continually sanitized.

As we mentioned earlier Rosatom Director General, Alexey Likhachev, stated that all NPPs develop measures to address risks associated with health of personnel essential to safety and security. Currently, Rosenergoatom, an operator of Russian NPPs, is considering various options of isolation for operation personnel at other NPPs, including accommodation with their families.

Earlier, Rosenergoatom introduced preventive measures at its sites, such as body temperature control and disinfection of transportation vehicles. Employees over 65, mothers and fathers with many children, pregnant women, workers with disabilities, as well as those with chronic diseases were transferred to remote work.
