"This year, it is important to build up the production of advanced types of armament: Su-57 fifth-generation multirole fighters and new Il-76MD-90A heavy military transport planes," the Defence Minister said.

The Defence Cheif noted at the ministry’s conference call on Tuesday that the reproduction of the modernised Tu-160M strategic bombers at the Kazan Aviation Plant is not less important than that of building up the production of Su-57 fighters and Il-76MD-90A planes.

"Today we will talk about how to ensure the systematic workload of our aviation enterprises and solve a number of technical tasks," Shoigu said.

Regarding the implementation of the State Defence Order for last year, the Minister of Defence said that in 2020 "enterprises of the United Aircraft Corporation supplied 147 aircraft to the Armed Forces, including the first serial-produced Su-57 multirole fighter. The modernized strategic missile carriers Tu-160M and Tu-95MSM made their debut flights. Two long-term contracts for the supply of Su-35S multipurpose fighters and Su-34 fighter-bombers were completed."
