Russian Military Specialists Fight Against The Coronavirus In Italy

Consultations on the use of Russian military specialists, equipment and property in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic were held today in Rome in the complex of buildings for Italian Land Forces officers' assembly.

The consultations were attended by representatives of the Italian Ministry of Defence and the Department of civil protection under the Council of Ministers of Italy, and from the Russian side – officers of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation, who are part of the headquarters of the task force that arrived to provide assistance.­

The Chief of inter-service operational command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Italian Republic, Lieutenant-General Portolano handed his Russian counterpart Major-General Sergey Kikot the words of gratitude to Russia for its willingness to provide assistance in dealing with a dangerous infection.

As a result of the meeting, it was determined that Russian military specialists with experience in fighting epidemics will start performing tasks in Bergamo, Italy. Currently, military personnel are coordinating routes for the 600-kilometer march and preparing equipment and property for movement.

 In order to prevent the spread of infections, high-performance mobile disinfectants with a stock of disinfectants and mobile laboratories for the diagnosis of viral diseases have been delivered from the most affected regions throughout the country.

Experienced epidemiologists, virologists, resuscitators, therapists are provided with unique equipment and equipment that allows you to quickly identify pathogens of dangerous infectious diseases, such as coronavirus.
