Black Sea Fleet ships detachment completes exercise with Navy of Algeria in the Mediterranean

Detachment of ships of the Black Sea Fleet  completed the exercise with the naval forces of Algeria in the Mediterranean. After replenishment of supplies in the port of Algeria, Russian ships went to sea to continue  tasks under the plan of activity of the Navy as part of a permanent group in the Mediterranean Sea.

 

A detachment of ships consisting of the frigate Admiral Makarov, the patrol ship Vasily Bykov and the rescue tugboat SB-739, during exercise with the Algerian Navy, practiced joint actions to ensure maritime security, during which the crews of the ships conducted trainings to control civil shipping with screening actions of courts suspected of piracy and illegal economic activity.

During their stay in the port, Russian sailors visited the historical places of Algeria with sightseeing trips, and the ships of the Black Sea Fleet were open for visiting by Algerian colleagues.

The exercise took place in the western part of the Mediterranean Sea.
