The event was initially planned to take place later this month between 25-28 May 2021. However, the deteriorating epidemiological situation in Turkey forced the change of plans.

IDEF is held under the management and responsibility of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation.

"We will be pleased to host all companies in İstanbul as well as hosting the official delegations of friendly and allied countries on the occasion of IDEF 2021, and as Ministry of National Defence, we will continue to provide support for the success of IDEF," said the Turkish Minister of Defence, Hulusi Akar, in a statement.

About IDEF:

The Fair which hosted 1,061 companies from 53 countries, 76,010 professional visitors from 96 countries, and press members from 26 countries in 2019, is getting ready to bring the industry together this year. At IDEF, where national and international trade agreements through signing ceremonies take place annually, important collaborations promise to be signed in 2021. In 2021, the number of over 100 signing ceremonies, meetings and product launches in IDEF19 will be way exceeded in IDEF'21, which will again position itself as the commercial hub of the defence industry.

International Delegations and Local Authorities to Meet at IDEF’21

In 2019, IDEF hosted 151 delegations and 588 delegation members representing 70 countries and 3 international organizations at the fair. International delegation invitations for IDEF 21 have been extended by relevant official authorities on the basis of reciprocity. Like every year, over the course of four days, IDEF'21 will provide its participants with the opportunity to meet with local and international industry professionals, Turkish Procurement Authorities and Foreign Delegations. The contacts to be established between Turkish official authorities and local/international company representatives and delegations will also help contribute to peace in the region and to global peace.
