"U.S. security assistance and cooperation efforts with Ukraine during COVID 19 continue! [On June 16], the U.S. Embassy’s Office of Defense Cooperation received more than $60 million of equipment to transfer to our Ukrainian partners, including radios, ammunition, and Javelin anti-tank missiles," said the Embassy in a Tweet.

Two years ago, Ukraine had received the first shipment of the same missiles from the United States according to a deal worth $47 million. This purchase was a part of the United States military aid funds for the Ukrainian government.

Javelin is a portable anti-tank weapon, manufactured by the Raytheon / Lockheed Martin Javelin joint venture (JV) that is shoulder-fired but can also be installed on tracked, wheeled or amphibious vehicles.

Last week U.S. Congress approved a $250 million security assistance package to Ukraine for FY2020 under the Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative (USAI) program.
