Yantar Shipyard (Kaliningrad, Russia) completes the work on two Project 11356 Burevestnik-class ships. According to the procurement documents, the work is being done under the supply contract dated March 22, 2019. It is planned to complete the current outfitting phase by the end of 2020.
A source from the military-industerial complex confirmed this information to Mil.Press. Other details remain undisclosed so far. Hull numbers for the two ships are 01457 and 01458.
Being interviewed on March 24, the shipyard’s CEO Eduard Efimov announced the entry of an export contract for two ships into force. He said that work on that contract was in progress, and the funding schedules had been already approved. Along with construction of two Project 11711 landing ships of the second series, this is Yantar’s primary order.
