Chinese state-owned media reported that the Chinese Navy has commissioned a new strategic nuclear-powered submarine as part of the Chinese Navy’s 71st anniversary. The Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA) Navy is conducting intensive exercises to celebrate the 71st anniversary of its founding on Thursday.
The celebration will also include new weapons like the Type 055, a domestically built aircraft carrier, comprehensive supplement ships and mass-produced aircraft carrier-based fighter jets, and new anti-submarine patrol aircraft, marking the modernization of the Chinese Navy.
The type of the submarine was not specified in the report.
