Rosoboronexport (ROE) of the Rostec State Corporation is organizing a large-scale display of products of Russian defense enterprises at the Egypt Defence Expo EDEX 2021, which will be held from 29 November to 2 December 2021 in Cairo. This was announced today by the press service or the Rostec State Coprporation.

“Egypt is the most important strategic partner of Russia. Military-technical cooperation between our countries has a long history and is constantly developing in accordance with the trends of the world market. Rosoboronexport is ready for further cooperation with the Egyptian side in any modern format and across the entire spectrum of military, dual, and civilian products being promoted,” said Alexander Mikheev, CEO of Rosoboronexport.
“At EDEX 2021 exhibition, we will present to representatives of all branches of the armed forces of Egypt and other African countries the latest samples of military products and developments of the Russian industry, we will hold meetings and negotiations on current issues in the field of security.”
Rosoboronexport is organizing a single Russian exposition at EDEX 2021, within which seven major Russian manufacturers of weapons and military equipment for all types of armed forces are demonstrating their products in Hall 4 of the Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC).
At its stand, Rosoboronexport will present more than 350 product samples, including in the form of models: the Yak-130 combat trainer, the Mi-35M transport and combat helicopter, the Ka-31 radar patrol helicopter, and the Rubezh- ME coastal defense missile system.
Additionally, at the Rosoboronexport stand, Remdizel will present models of Typhoon and Tornado vehicles, Kalashnikov concern will demonstrate a wide range of small arms, including Lebedev's pistol, Kalashnikov's hundredth and two hundredth series assault rifles, the most modern AK -15, AK-19 and AK-308, as well as the latest PPK-20 submachine gun.
The world's largest armored vehicle manufacturer, the Uralvagonzavod Concern, will show models of the best-selling weapons market - the T-90MS tank and the Terminator BMPT, which are super popular in the Middle East and Africa, and the Petrovsky Plant will show a model of the newest anti-roof mine PTKM-1R. The Special Technological Center will present the Orlan-10E unmanned aerial vehicle.
"Rosoboronexport reports a significant increase in the interest of foreign partners in Russian-made unmanned aerial vehicles. In 2021, the Orion-E reconnaissance and strike was brought to the foreign market and now we are carrying out more than ten contract negotiations. Moreover, over 50 Orlan-10E drones have already been delivered to customers this year. We are preparing to launch new models in the near future, including kamikaze drones and heavy percussion vehicles, ” said Mikheev.
Rosoboronexport has sets up separate stands to demonstrate the products of the Almaz-Antey concern, the NII STALI JSC, as well as the holdings of the Rostec State Corporation: High-Precision Weapons, Russian Helicopters, Technodinamika and Roselectronics.
The Russian defense industry in Egypt will be represented by over a thousand product samples. Foreign partners will be shown air defense systems and complexes of various ranges, combat and transport aircraft, including the military transport Il-76MD-90A (E) and the Il-78MK-90A tanker, helicopters, armored vehicles, products for the navy, small arms weapons, as well as a wide range of ammunition.
At EDEX 2021 Rosoboronexport will hold a presentation of the Kornet-EM (manufactured by the Instrument Design Bureau) universal missile system and equipment for its crew. The company's specialists will showcase in detail the characteristics and capabilities of the complex, as well as the features of its use, taking into account combat experience.
As part of the business program of the exhibition, Rosoboronexport will hold meetings and negotiations with representatives of various branches of the armed forces and combat arms of the Ministry of Defense of Egypt and other countries. It is planned to discuss further cooperation in all defense-related areas of relevance for the region, including countering terrorist groups.
