"The trials of the new Rubezh system are currently underway. They will surely be completed by the end of 2021," said the Deputy CEO of Morinformsistema-Agat Group.

Nikolai Borisov explained that Rubezh is a mobile version of the Bal coastal defense missile system. He also added that comparing the latest Rubezh to its predecessor, this one has several functions combined in one vehicle: the launcher vehicle proper, target acquisition, reconnaissance, and combat control. Moreover, it will fire Kh-35UE low-altitude anti-ship cruise missiles.

Furthermore, he noted that several clients have already expressed their interest in this system.
