Speculations that Turkey can consider the purchase of the Russian jet fighters intensified after the visit of the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan to Moscow on 27 August. During the visit to the MAKS-2019 Air Salon together with the Russian leader Vladimir Putin, Mr. Erdoğan showed his interest to the combat aircraft developed by the Sukhoi design office. After that, he stated, using the words “why not”, that he didn’t rule out the possibility of buying Su-35 and Su-57 instead of F-35.
