Eurasia Airshow Press Conference

Organizers of the Eurasia Airshow held an online press conference today to give updates on the new date of the exhibition. The show was supposed to take place 22-26 April, but was postponed because of the Covid-19 pandemic. New Defence Order. Strategy attended the press conference.

Hakan Kurt, CEO of Eurasia Airshow, announced that the exhibition is now set to be held on 2-6 December 2020. This decision is based on simulations of the dynamics of the spread of the virus which predict that life will start to go back to normal in September. The postponement was made after consultations with the Turkish Ministry of Health and Ministry of Trade, and also taking in consideration the recommendations of the World Health Organisation (WHO).

As of March 2020, 206 companies from 47 countries had confirmed there participation in the exhibition(among them 7 Chinese companies and 14 American companies), as well as 72 official delegations, said Kurt. Until today, no cancellations have been made, and the organisers of the show will have another round of confirmations and will publish the full list of participants by October.

Kurt noted that the Russian participation is the one of the biggest and most important in this air show. Companies that had confirmed their participation as of March 2020 were:

  • Rosoboronexport
  • PJSC United Aircraft Building
  • United Engines Corporation
  • Rostec State Corporation
  • KRET (Concern Radio-cum-Electronic Technologies JSC)
  • Almaz-Antey
  • Roscosmos
  • Russian Helicopters

As for Turkey’s participation, the hosting country’s main nationally-produced platforms to be presented at this show are going to be the T-129 Helicopter and the Anka UAV. It is expected that Turkish Aerospace company will introduce a new platform at this exhibition, more details will follow in October.

The show, planned to be held in April, had to be postponed due to pandemics. Hakan Kurt, Eurasia Airshow CEO, in his statement related to the show, told that the new date  is from 2nd to 6th December 2020.

Telling that the entire participants are regularly informed in the period of pandemics, Kurt told that they did not receive cancellations from the participants in the process, which proved the importance of Eurasia Show.

Emphasizing attendance of many countries including USA, Russia, France, Italy, Pakistan, Ukraine, Qatar and China to Airshow 2020, Kurt added that many aircrafts including F16-Fighting Falcon, F-18 Hornet, JF-17 Thunder and Su-35 would be exhibited in the Show.

He told that under the Show, in addition to such large body aircrafts as Airbus A350-1000, Boeing C-17 Globemaster III or Airbus A400M, the helicopters Eurocopter, Sikorsky S70, T129 ATAK and Ansat could also be seen.

Kurt stated that they aimed 400 participant companies and over 45 thousand visitors in Eurasia Airshow 2020, adding “We think that there will be over 130 official body meetings. Furthermore, we have specified a real order target of 25 billion USD. We believe that there will be no deviation”
