2S3M Akatsiya Self-Propelled Howitzers Deliveries Begin

The Rostec State Corporation announced that its subsidiary Uraltransmash of the Uralvagonzavod Concern has delivered the first batch of 2S3M Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers to the Ministry of Defence.

This delivery is part of the State Defense Order, and it comes after a major overhaul of the 2S3M Akatsiya self-propelled howitzers, said the press service of the Rostec State Corporation.

“The communication facilities have been improved in the vehicle, work on complete import substitution has been carried out as well. Self-propelled howitzers are fully equipped with transportable spare parts, tools, and accessories that were handed over to the customer,” said Dmitry Semizorov, General Director of Uraltransmash JSC.

The 152-mm 2S3M2 Akatsiya self-propelled howitzer is designed to destroy and suppress artillery, tanks, self-propelled guns and other armored equipment, suppress rear services and command and control bodies, and destroy field and long-term defensive structures.

In June 202, Uralvagonzavod had announced that it was conducting works to maintain and upgrade the 2S3M Akatsiya 152 mm self-propelled howitzers (SPHs) of the Russian Armed Forces

Uraltransmash (The Ural Plant of Transport Engineering) is a company based in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Currently, it is a subsidiary of Uralvagonzavod. It is Russia's primary producer of self-propelled artillery. Uraltransmash also produces oil drilling rigs and some other civil products.
