The International Military-Technical Forum Army-2022 will be held from August 15 to 21 at the Patriot Convention and Exhibition Center, the Alabino training ground and Kubinka airfield. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu called this event one of the most significant not only for the Russian Armed Forces, but also for representatives of the military-industrial complex, leading scientific schools and business circles.
This year, the Army will become a platform for the X Moscow Conference on International Security. The main issue to be discussed is the maintaining of global stability.
«Combining key events of the Ministry of Defense on one platform will make official negotiations and meetings more meaningful and productive», says Sergei Shoigu.
According to him, the exposition of the Navy and the specialized exhibition «Innovative development in the field of defense» deserve special attention at the upcoming forum. The Minister also called the congress «Strategic leadership and Artificial Intelligence» a significant event. The latter will be held in cooperation with representatives of federal executive authorities, subjects of the Russian Federation and partner organizations in the field of global digitalization.

Army-2022 will host the second congress dedicated to problems and solutions in the field of AI. The Department of Information Systems of the Ministry of Defense is preparing a round table «Import substitution of information technologies in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation», which is aimed at analyzing the experience of switching to domestic hardware and software platforms and identifying barriers to import substitution in the IT sector. Applications for participation in the event were submitted by more than 40 technology companies.
Through the scientific and business program it is planned to hold the third congress «Diversification of the Defense Industry», designed to facilitate the implementation of the decree of the President of Russia on increasing the volume of high-tech civilian products of defense enterprises.
«The Forum promotes the export of Russian high–tech military and dual-use products, clearly demonstrating high efficiency in the implementation of the state policy on equipping the army and navy with modern weapons, military and special equipment», Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation General of the Army Pavel Popov says.
More than 2.5 thousand enterprises and organizations have been invited to participate in the Army-2022 Forum, official delegations from 129 states are expected. Belarus, Kazakhstan, India, Pakistan and Uzbekistan announced their intention to present national expositions.
