New Missile Defence System Test-Launched

The Russian Aerospace Forces test-launched a new Russian missile defence system.  This was reported by the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The test launch was carried out by the combat crew of the air and anti-missile defence forces of the Aerospace Forces at the Sary-Shagan training ground of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The anti-missile defence system is in service with the Aerospace Forces and is designed to protect against attacks from aerospace attack weapons.

During the test launch, the commander of the anti-missile defence of the Aerospace Forces, Major General Sergei Grabchuk, said that "After a series of tests, the new system has reliably confirmed the inherent characteristics, and the combat crews successfully completed the task, hitting the conditional target with the given accuracy."
