Two Tu-160 Bombers Conduct 12-Hour Mission

Two strategic missile carriers Tu-160 performed a planned flight over the neutral waters of the Barents Sea, the Norwegian Sea, and the North Sea, said the Department of Information and Mass Communications of the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation.

The duration of the flight was about 12 hours. At certain stages of the route, the strategic missile carriers were accompanied by the MiG-31 fighters of the naval aviation of the Russian Navy, as well as the Eurofighter Typhoon of the British Air Force, and the F-16 of the Norwegian Air Force.

Long-range aviation crews regularly fly over the neutral waters of the Arctic, North Atlantic, Black and Baltic Seas, and the Pacific Ocean.

The Ministry emphasized that all the flights of the Russian Aerospace Forces are conducted in strict compliance with international airspace rules.
