Repair work was carried out by the Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant (NARP) of the Russian Helicopters holding under the direct control of the Mill and Kamov National Helicopter Center, the developer of Mi helicopters. As a result of the maintenance carried out, Peruvian helicopters have an inter-repair service life of eight years and an inter-repair life of 2000 hours.

Currently, especially against the backdrop of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the Republic of Peru is actively operating previously supplied Russian helicopters. The machines are used to carry out various tasks: transportation, search and rescue of people in areas affected by natural disasters, combating drug trafficking, as well as for humanitarian purposes, such as the delivery of medicines, food, and clothing.

"Russian Helicopters' technology has proven itself in Peru since the Soviet Union - in 1970 the USSR was one of the first to come to the aid of the Peruvian side after the earthquake. Then, as humanitarian aid, we handed over the Mi-8 helicopters to Peru in medical performance. Today, more than a hundred Russian-made helicopters are operated in the country, so we attach special importance to their repair and modernisation. I believe that the work carried out once again testifies to a high level of trust of our customers," said Andrey Boginsky, General Director of Russian Helicopters Holding.

Multipurpose helicopters of the Mi-8/17 series are recognized and in demand all over the world due to their reliability, versatility and ease of maintenance. The design and equipment of Mi-8/17 helicopters allow them to be operated autonomously based on unequipped sites in almost all climatic conditions, including high-altitude and hot climates, which proves many years of experience in using these machines on different continents.

Novosibirsk Aircraft Repair Plant carries out maintenance, overhaul and modernization of various modifications of Mi helicopters. The Plant repairs helicopter systems and units throughout the overhaul life and provides users with spare parts. NARP also provides services around the world with the possibility of customer-based restoration work.
