New Naval Cruise Missiles Tested by Iran

Iranian state media reported today new naval cruise missiles tested by Iran. The test took place during a war game at the Indian Ocean.

Thursday morning witnessed the launch of  ‘Ramadan Martyrs’ combat war game in the Sea of Oman and the northern parts of the Indian Ocean by the Iranian Navy.

In this exercise, Iran tested a newly manufactured short-range and long-range cruise missiles by Iran's Ministry of Defence, reported Tasnim News Agency.

The new long-range missile can hit the targets at a distance of 280 KM; this range can be extended.

The ‘Ramadan Martyrs’ combat war game was carried out on the fortieth day after 19 Navy servicemen died and 15 others injured in an accident on 10 May involving the Konarak vessel.

The accident happened when a number of vessels were carrying a naval training exercise off the coasts of Jask and Chabahar in the Sea of Oman.
