SAHA Expo exhibits several Turkish defence products, including Akıncı and TB2 unmanned combat aerial vehicles, and Atak helicopter. There is also a display of the country’s first locally designed engines,TJ300 of the TUSAŞ Engine Industries (TEI), and PG50, as well as SAR 762 MT and SAR 127 MT guns of the Sarsılmaz firearms manufacturer will be displayed for the first time, reports Turkish media.

Two locally-manufactured missiles, Gökdoğan and Bozdoğan, are going to be test-fired from F-16 jets of the Turkish Air Force by the end of November, said the Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank on 9 November at the opening day of the SAHA EXPO Virtual Fair.

According to the Turkish Minister, all ground tests have been completed and the missiles will enter mass production after the successful completion of the flight test program. He added that the missiles will substitute the American AIM-120 AMRAAM

The Gökdoğan is a beyond visual range advanced medium range air to air missile (AMRAAM) similar to the AIM-120 while Bozdoğan is a short range line of sight missile. Developed by local research institute,  TUBITAK SAGE, the missiles have been under development since 2013.

The event had originally been scheduled an in-person event in Istanbul 9-13 November, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event will be held online.
