Russia has been very active in the African continent and it is working on expanding the geography of its deliveries and the range of military products.

"For example, this year Rosoboronexport signed the first contract in the past 20 years for the delivery of Russian-made naval hardware to one of the countries in that region. Now work is underway on some projects for the delivery of hardware for other military branches and for law-enforcement and anti-terror agencies," Mikheyev said.

2019 witnessed the Russia-Africa Summit (Sochi, October 23-24, 2019) which was aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between Russian and African countries.

In June 2020 Mikheyev praised this partnership that continues to grow despite sanctions against Russia.

“In recent years, we have made significant breakthroughs. Despite the sanctions, we regained the large-scale Russian presence in Africa, established cooperation with a number of NATO countries, launched a line of key products on the market, and mastered new areas of work, ”concluded the General Director of Rosoboronexport.
