Su-57 Fighter Presented Abroad for the First Time

The Russian fifth-generation Su-57 fighter is likely to take part in the AeroIndia-2021 air show in Bangalore, which will be held on 3-7 February 2021. This was reported by The Economic Times, citing sources from among the organizers of the event.

The participation of the Su-57 in the exhibition may become the debut of the fighter in the region. Sources of the Indian publication added that we are talking about the serial sample of Su-57.

As the State Corporation Rostec later clarified, the export version of the Su-57 will indeed be presented at AeroIndia 2021 - in the form of a model. “It is planned to show a model of the Su-57E, a full-scale model will not be presented. The model gives a complete and visual representation of this newest combat vehicle,” said a representative of Rostec.

As noted in the publication, the Russian fifth-generation fighter could be part of the Indian air fleet, since Russia and India previously negotiated its joint production.

The possible participation of the Su-57 in AeroIndia-2021 had already been announced by the Russian Ambassador to India Nikolai Kudashev back in October. He also said that it was planned to demonstrate Su-35S and MiG-35 fighters in India.

In addition to the Russian novelty, the American strategic bomber B-1 may be shown at the air show. The publication draws attention to the statements of officials that the rest of the equipment on display will consist mainly of samples already in service in India, such as the French Rafale fighter, the Russian Su-30MKI, and Indian Tejas, as well as several helicopters.

The organizers of the event clarified that despite the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, large world companies will take part in AeroIndia, and all exhibition areas are already occupied.
