Within the framework of the State Defense Order for 2019-2021, the Ministry of Defence of the Russian Federation has received a batch of self-propelled howitzers 2C19M2 "Msta-S" produced by the Uraltransmash plant of the Uralvagonzavod Concern. The vehicles were sent on car trawls to the military unit of the Ministry of Defence, Rostec reported.
Before being delivered to the troops, each combat vehicle underwent the necessary tests at the range, factory inspection of all systems, and acceptance by the customer. Currently, howitzers are loaded on car trawls and sent to places of permanent deployment, the Defense Ministry confirmed.
"We manufactured and delivered new 2C19M2 "Msta-S" self-propelled howitzers on time. This is a praiseworthy result of the work of the entire staff of the enterprise," said Dmitry Semizorov, General Director of Uraltransmash.
In a number of main indicators, 2C19M2 competes the best foreign analogues. The self-propelled howitzer was adopted in 2014 and produced at JSC Uraltransmash.
Self-propelled Msta-S units are designed to destroy and suppress artillery mortar batteries, tanks, anti-tank, fire and radio electronic means, armored vehicles, control points, air defense and missile defense equipment, destroy field defensive structures, and prohibit maneuvers of infantry and tank reserves.
Uraltransmash is a company based in Yekaterinburg, Russia. Currently it is a subsidiary of Uralvagonzavod. Uraltransmash is Russia's primary producer of self-propelled artillery. Uraltransmash also produces oil drilling rigs and some other civil products.
